I believe the origin of "dork" has something to do with penis, though most people don't think of the word that way anymore.
"Nerd" and "geek" are probably the closest in meaning, connoting this person is studious and focused on achievement, but is socially awkward. I think it's not bad to be labeled a nerd or a geek, because at least it shows you have expertise in something.
"Dork" is socially awkwardness, plus you're stupid.

So all said, I would prefer to be a geek.
