My Favs of the Spring/Summer 08 collection. (pt.2)

There are fluid dresses and there are F L U I D dresses. The Alberta Ferrati ones are practical, but the Lanvin ones are gorgeous. The pictures really do no justice to the following dresses. On the runway, the models look so Athena goddesslike as they float down the runway! Like flowers! So graceful. But of course you really need model height to carry them of as well. On us, squash nuts, no way. We'll trip all the way and look like we're draping on our best bed sheets.

Something else which is more wearable. Topshop or Zara, please adapt design and bring in and charge SGD100 so I can afford it. In the same shade too, thank you.

Smack!

We play badminton religiously every week now. An indoor sport that doesn't require slabbing on sunblock.

The first session was atrocious, I would miss the shuttlecock completely despite a well-aimed stroke and application of great arm power to swing the racquet hard and furious. So embarrassing, so it's a good thing that we practised during off peak hours and so limit the number of witnesses. But now we're finally improving along nicely. We're getting ambitious - trying out various attack wacks and angling of the racquet to add diversity in our game, instead of just concentrating on lopping the shuttlecock across the net. We still break out in giggles and laugh at ourselves, but less so now. Highly satisfying.
I think we will be ready for tournaments in 6 months' time.
